Andrea Jimenez-Zambrano, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics. A native of Peru and Latinx immigrant raised in Colorado, she witnessed firsthand how social and structural barriers impact maternal and family health. These early experiences left a lasting impression, sparking her interest in maternal and child health and motivating her to understand and address the broader social factors affecting community well-being. She holds a BA in Spanish, BS in Biology, MPH in Community and Behavioral Health, and a PhD in Health and Behavioral Science. She recently completed a T32 Primary Care Research Fellowship at the University of Colorado, earning a Graduate Certificate in Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Science. Building on this training and experience, her research now focuses on leveraging dissemination and implementation (D&I) science to improve maternal and child health by addressing social drivers and unmet social needs.
