Po Hong Tan is an international medical graduate from Malaysia and will soon begin his general surgery residency at Mayo Clinic Arizona. Prior to this, He worked for four years in a public hospital in Malaysia, with two of those years dedicated to general surgery. In addition to his clinical work, Po Hong Tan completed a year of research at Mayo Clinic Arizona under the mentorship of Dr. Zhi Ven Fong, a surgical oncologist. Outside of medicine, He is passionate about staying active and enjoys a wide range of sports and outdoor activities, including badminton, pickleball, basketball, scuba diving, and outdoor rock climbing. These hobbies help him stay balanced, foster teamwork, and support his ability to connect and communicate easily with others.
