Justin Benzer, Ph.D., is Professor at the Implementation Science Institute at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health and the Department of Management, Policy, and Community Health. As an industrial/organizational psychologist, he brings theoretical lenses from the organization sciences to implementation science research. He received training in health services research and implementation science at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Services Research Center in Boston. He has expertise in health services research, organization science, implementation science, and community-based participatory research. Much of his research has focused on the coordination of care across settings, such as between primary care and mental health. His current research involves integration of medical-mental health-substance use care for people experiencing homelessness, coordination of care between VA and non-VA settings, coordination of care for cancer survivors, and implementation of peer-based mental health support for the harm reduction workforce. He is experienced with administrative database analyses, survey design/psychometrics, and mixed advanced quantitative and qualitative methods.
