Laney joined Amgen in 2024 and currently serves as the Implementation Science Medical Director for the US Cardiometabolic Medical Team. In her current role, she focuses on advancing the standard of care for uncontrolled LDL-C and address the associated CV event risk reduction, scaling implementation science efforts and disseminating this knowledge through a consortium that supports patients, practitioners and systems of care in application of guideline based medical therapy. Prior to joining Amgen, Laney was an Associate Professor in the Department of Genomic Health at Geisinger in Danville, PA. Her research projects focused on closing the know-do gaps (i.e. implementation science) in preventative cardiology, specifically in inherited lipid disorders and improving implementability of clinical practice guidelines. Her work was supported through governmental (NIH, CDC) and foundation funds. Laney received her PharmD from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (now at St. Joseph’s University), an MPH from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, and a certificate in Implementation Science from University of California San Francisco. She did her postdoctoral training at Geisinger and implementation science training in the Mentored Training in Implementation Science (MTIS) K12 program at Washington University in St. Louis, sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
