Bozhidar Chakalov, M.A. is a public health researcher and educator completing a Ph.D. in Public Health Sciences at the University of California, Davis. His work focuses on health equity, with particular emphasis on healthcare access and utilization among sexual and gender minority (SGM) and immigrant populations. Grounded in intersectionality and population health frameworks, his research integrates quantitative methods, large-scale survey data, and spatial analysis to examine how social, structural, and geographic factors shape health disparities. Bozhidar’s scholarship is policy-relevant and community-engaged, with peer-reviewed publications and presentations across public health, epidemiology, and population science. In addition to his research, he serves as a lecturer and mentor, teaching biostatistics, epidemiology, and health equity at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Through his research and teaching, Bozhidar is committed to advancing rigorous, inclusive scholarship that supports more equitable health systems and outcomes.
