Amira Daoud, M.A., is a Senior Research Associate at AcademyHealth. They currently work on a project with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) supporting the VA’s Advanced Fellowship in Health Services Research (HSR) program, while also collaborating with the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) on their Advisory Panels, Roundtables, and Regional Convenings, as well as supporting AcademyHealth’s Professional Development and Methods & Data Councils. Amira recently joined the Project DREAM team, working to advance racial equity in maternal health. Prior to joining AcademyHealth, Amira was a Research Associate at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, where they served as a key member of the research staff involved in developing the report "Ending Unequal Treatment: Strategies to Achieve Equitable Health Care and Optimal Health for All." Amira holds a Master of Arts in Bioethics from New York University (NYU), where they focused on medical and research ethics and health policy, writing their thesis on the right to adequate health care for Sexual and Gender Minority (SGM) People of Color (POC). They also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a Pre-Health concentration from NYU.
