Angela Keniston, PhD, MSPH is Associate Professor in the School of Medicine and Director of Data and Analytics for the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. An implementation scientist and data analyst with more than 20 years of experience, she is nationally recognized in the field of Hospital Medicine for her expertise in research methodology, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research, implementation science, survey design, EHR-enabled research, and user-centered design.
Her work focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating interventions that improve care delivery for hospitalized patients while supporting clinician well-being and effectiveness. As Director of Data and Analytics, Dr. Keniston leads a multidisciplinary analytics team embedded within clinical operations, partnering closely with clinicians, informaticists, and operational leaders to develop and evaluate EHR-based innovations, including discharge readiness tools, clinician workload dashboards, audit-log–based measures of clinical work, and analyses of healthcare communication and secure messaging.
