Breanne βBreβ Biondi is a postdoctoral scholar at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice at the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on pregnancy and postpartum outcomes among women with substance use disorders, as well as hepatitis C virus treatment uptake. Her current work focuses on postpartum care among people with opioid use disorder and the effect of extending pregnancy-related Medicaid from 60 days to 1 year postpartum.
She has a strong quantitative background in quasiexperimental methods which she uses to evaluate policy effects under real-world conditions. Her dissertation work was funded by a pilot grant from The Center for Health Economics of Treatment Interventions for Substance Use Disorder, HCV, and HIV (CHERISH). She received her PhD in Health Services and Policy Research from the Boston University School of Public Health, where she was a
