Pooja S. Mehta, MPH is the AAPI Community Outreach Lead for NC DMH/DD/SUS and the founder of Tarang. A professional with direct lived experience and a suicide loss survivor, she highlights the role of public health and personal perspective in mental healthcare and policy, changing how communities talk about mental health.

Pooja is a leading voice in AAPI mental health advocacy, with experience spanning psychiatric hospitals to Capitol Hill. Her work has been featured on NPR, ABC, WebMD, and TEDx. She also founded the Raj Mehta Day of Good, an annual international day of service honoring her late brother. She is the proud child of Indian immigrants, a North Carolina native, and an avid reader, crafter, and auntie.
