Kim Khoo is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Resident at Johns Hopkins. Born in Houston, Texas, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, followed by a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with a certificate in Health Disparities and Health Inequality. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston before moving to Baltimore for residency, during which she earned an Advanced Professional Certificate in Behavioral Insights from the University of British Columbia and an Implementation Science and Research Practice Certificate from Bloomberg.
As a surgical resident, she combines research and clinical work with patient advocacy, and plans an academic career in plastic and reconstructive surgery as a surgeon-scientist focused on dissemination and implementation science. She is passionate about health policy, health services research, advocacy, implementation science, and leadership, and believes in multidisciplinary collaboration to bring evidence into clinical practice.
