Dr. Kusters earned her Ph.D. and M.P.H. at the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston. She is currently an Advanced Fellow in Health Professions Education, Evaluation, and Research at the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness, and Safety at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. In this role, Dr. Kusters designs, implements, and evaluates curriculum for interprofessional learners at all levels. In addition, her research focuses on insurance coverage and access to care for immigrant populations, and she is also interested in the ways in which language services affect the access and quality of care for Limited English Proficient patients.
