The second in a two-part seminar series, this presentation is designed to provide participants with an overview of causality and use of causal models to address key questions in health services research.  Learning objectives for this session include: providing a background on the controversy regarding causal inference; identifying a system for classifying causal modeling problems; and presenting basic modeling and estimation approaches to address those problems.  The focus of part II of the sequence is to provide an in-depth discussion of estimation techniques for causal modeling.  Part I provides background on causality and introduces a system for classifying causal models.
