Dr. Denny Yu received his BS in Bioengineering from the University of California-Berkeley. He received his MS and PhD both in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan in Industrial and Operations Engineering in 2014.

His research links the areas of human factors, occupational health, biomechanics, and medical devices with applications in improving the safety of healthcare for both patients and medical professionals.

Ongoing projects include quantifying surgeon and surgical team intraoperative workload, developing injury risk models for healthcare providers, assessing and designing new surgical equipment and medical devices, and implementing wearable sensor devices in emergency care delivery.

Dr. Yu was a 2015 AcademyHealth Delivery System Science Fellow. His host site was the Mayo Clinic.
