Justinna Dixon, BSN, RN is a current T32 predoctoral trainee in the Comparative and Cost-Effectiveness (CER2) fellowship at Columbia School of Nursing’s Center for Healthcare Delivery Research and Innovations. Her research interests surround health disparities affecting those with mental illness and the nursing workforce. She has experience as an inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse nurse, where she saw inequities in the health outcomes of individuals with mental health conditions. Additionally, in these roles, she observed how nursing work environments greatly influence the delivery of healthcare in various settings. These experiences motivated her to pursue a career in health services research to build a program research dedicated to leveraging the nurse workforce. She is currently interested in how the nurse practitioner organizational climate impacts healthcare delivery for patients with serious mental illness. She is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Nursing
