As a research assistant at HMA, Kelsi Jackson brings qualitative and quantitative data analysis, program evaluation, report writing, and survey development skills to the HMA team. She is greatly invested in using her background in community-based research and epidemiology to advance health equity for marginalized populations.
Prior to joining HMA, Kelsi most recently supported an Atlanta-based public health evaluation group on several projects, including a needs assessment among lupus nephritis patients and an evaluation of a national lupus awareness campaign among young minority women where she conducted mixed-methods data collection and analyses.
Previously, Kelsi worked in the American Cancer Society’s Behavioral Research Center on projects that targeted the social determinants of cancer prevention. As a former epidemiology assistant in the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Health, Kelsi also conducted field research on joint pain from prior chikungunya infection among residents and supported disease outbreak prevention activities in the department’s emergency operations center.
Kelsi received her master’s degree in public health with a concentration in epidemiology and her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Emory University.
