Meghna Katta is a medical student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. She attended Northwestern University as an undergraduate and double majored in Neuroscience and Economics with a minor in Religious Studies. She then earned a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health with a focus on Health Policy and Management. Meghna is passionate about health services research and seeks to develop interventions to improve healthcare access and outcomes. Her current work focuses on characterizing barriers and facilitators to surgical patient telemedicine use in the Deep South using a mixed methods research design. Meghna plans on pursuing a career in academic surgery.

Ms. Katta is a recipient of a 2022 AcademyHealth Alice S. Hersh Student Scholarship for the Health Datapalooza & National Health Policy Conference.
