Overview
This one-hour session hosted by the Research Community on High-Value, Equitable Care explored how current initiatives are addressing issues of equity and value in health care. Elizabeth Cope, Vice President, Health Systems Improvement at AcademyHealth, moderated the webinar. Speakers included Kelsey Chalmers, Director of Research, Data Science at the Lown Institute; Melanie Ridley, Chief Program and Development Officer at the Innovation and Value Initiative; and Brian Smedley, Senior Fellow, Health Policy Center, Office of Race and Equity Research at the Urban Institute. Panelists provided an overview of their efforts to improve health care equity while ensuring high-value health care—sharing insights on challenges and opportunities for advancing high-value, equitable care within our health care system. Key issues around measurement, accountability, and patient engagement were explored.
