A webinar featured parent partner perspectives on their levels of engagement with the systems of care that support their children with medical complexity (CMC).
At the beginning of the year, AcademyHealth launched a new online portal to better serve our community. To register for AcademyHealth events you are required to access the portal. Accessing the portal for the first time will require previous users to reset their password.
An hour-long webinar featured parent partners and leaders from the systems of care for their children as they described “the why” that motivates their participation and the “how” that keeps them involved. The session highlighted how two HRSA-funded Demonstration Sites collaborated with family partners to discuss and implement care delivery model improvements for their children with medical complexity (CMC).Attendees gained valuable insights into caregiver priorities, effective engagement strategies, and ways to actualize “meeting people where they are.” The webinar included open dialogue from two sets of engagement partners about assessing group needs, sharing power, and facilitating meaningful involvement of caregivers and parents of CMC. Additionally, there was dedicated time for attendee questions and discussions about the importance of family engagement in various settings.
