Enhancing Systems of Care for Children with Medical Complexity (CMC) Coordinating Center
AcademyHealth, in partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital, FamilyVoices, the University of California San Francisco, Patient Advocate Foundation, and the American Academy of Pediatrics, is leading a Coordinating Center to support five Health Resources & Services Administration (HSRA)-funded demonstration sites to optimize the health and well-being for children with medical complexity and their families while also achieving health equity for these populations.
Health Equity DataJam
Hosted by AcademyHealth, the 2023 Health Equity DataJam invites participants to transform raw data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services into actionable insights and digital tools to bridge disparities of health, including those exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, Long COVID, and infection-associated chronic illnesses to ensure equitable access and wellness for all. Research on Pre-Hospital Diagnostic Delay
In partnership with the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, AcademyHealth supports the funding of research addressing pre-hospital diagnostic delays related to cancer, sepsis, and acute cardiovascular events.
Medicaid Outcomes Distributed Research Network (MODRN) Corrections to Community (CtC) Study
Enrolling in Medicaid immediately following incarceration is an important tool to support successful reentry, particularly for individuals with opioid use disorder and other behavioral health conditions. Many states have policies to suspend Medicaid during incarceration and then reactivate upon release, but little is known about how these policies are implemented and how they are coordinated across agencies (Medicaid and Corrections). AcademyHealth's new project is hoping to identify barriers and facilitators related to linking incarcerated individuals to Medicaid to support reactivation and enrollment of benefits.
