This webinar looked at global and national perspectives to explore the results of using well-being metrics.
Dominant cultural narratives about progress—often based solely on economic end goals—shape how societies make decisions and set priorities in policy and action across sectors. These narratives incent consumption, obscure inequities, encourage negative draws on social and natural capital, and turn a blind eye on well-being. Shifting the narrative to broaden our shared definition of progress to include well-being is imperative if we are to advance equity, build a Culture of Health, and sustain life on our planet. In this webinar, we looked at global and national perspectives to explore the results of using well-being metrics, the critical needs and gaps to make these measures more relevant and actionable, and how their use can drive changes in narrative, policy, and action.
