Overview
This one-hour inaugural webinar for the Research Community on Trust introduced the Advancing Research on Trust Initiative and explored the three key project areas: trust at an organizational level, the equity dimensions of trust, and how misinformation negatively impacts trust. Lisa Simpson, President and Chief Executive Officer of AcademyHealth moderated, and speakers included Daniel Wolfson, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the ABIM Foundation; Richard Baron, President and Chief Executive Officer of the ABIM Foundation; Monica Peek, Professor of Medicine at The University of Chicago Medicine; and Heather Lanthorn, Program Director of the Mercery Project at the Social Science Research Council. Highlighting the three key project areas, the speakers covered the importance of improving trust within health care organizations, understanding and addressing long-standing issues of equity, and confronting the growing epidemic of misinformation.
