Community health workers have historically worked in community-based settings. Medicaid managed care organizations are integrating community health workers into their teams, largely to support social determinants of health. Little is known about how teams are structured in these environments or how community health workers and their supervisors perceive community health workers roles in Medicaid managed care organizations.
