Carine Wellington is a Health Services Research Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland School of Public Health. Carine is deeply motivated and inspired to be a lifelong learner. Before starting at the University of Maryland, she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Public Health from Temple University and then obtained a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology from George Washington University. She is also Certified in Public Health and a Certified Health Education Specialist.
Carine is an interdisciplinary, mixed-methods researcher that understands that missed opportunities for prevention among children and adolescents can be detrimental as these are important transitional periods, critical to development.
As an interdisciplinary, mixed-methods researcher Carine is committed to alleviating the impact of health disparities by increasing equity in access to health care services for children and adolescents through data driven approaches used to inform health policy.
