This December, individuals on the frontlines of dissemination and implementation (D&I) science will convene to ensure that evidence is used to inform decisions that will improve the health of individuals and communities.

Through a combination of plenaries, concurrent sessions, and poster sessions, the 16th Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation in Health, co-hosted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and AcademyHealth, supports the collective understanding of the research agenda, puts forth new findings, and identifies research priorities to set the field up for the next decade.

2023 Conference Theme

Raising Expectations for D&I Science: Challenges and Opportunities
Both interest in and application of dissemination and implementation science has rapidly increased in recent years. At the same time there is rising awareness of unrealized opportunities to apply new knowledge. The 16th Annual Conference will concentrate on capitalizing on our methodological progress while also focusing attention on areas needing growth. We see tremendous opportunities to continue to advance the empirical and theoretical base for both experimental and observational research across the globe. Opportunities can include expanded work to learn from implementation practice, co-creation of high-priority studies, and application of trials testing strategies to support adoption, implementation, sustainment, scale-up, and/or de-implementation.

Orientation Video

This pre-recorded session, "Orientation to the Science of Dissemination and Implementation", provides information about the Conference and an introduction to the field of D&I Science. If you are a Science of D&I Conference first-timer or are new to the field, we encourage you to watch this orientation video in advance of this year’s Conference.
