Glorimar Ortiz, M.S., Ph.D.c, is the Principal Biostatistician at NRI. She serves as the expert in statistical matters and leads the research agenda for a behavioral performance measurement system comprised of data submitted by inpatient psychiatric hospitals participating in common measures of quality of care. She works extensively demonstrating the scientific acceptability of an inpatient consumer survey. Prior to joining NRI, Ms. Ortiz was the lead statistician in a randomized control trial testing the effectiveness of a cognitive behavioral therapy aimed at reducing the onset of major depression symptoms among pregnant women. She has also provided consultation on sampling matters and has focused her research interest in underserved groups. She is currently completing her PhD in Public Health - Epidemiology. Through her dissertation she will apply survival analysis to explore the magnitude of the mortality risk experienced by a population group with severe mental illness served by a public mental health agency.
