AcademyHealth is eagerly anticipating our first in-person gathering in over two years next week at the co-located Health Datapalooza and National Health Policy Conference. The conference presents an important opportunity to collectively reflect on lessons learned over the last two years while moving forward with sustainable improvements for the health sector.

In a recent blog post in Health Affairs, Dr. Lisa Simpson and meeting co-chair Karen DeSalvo emphasize the need to focus on three key ingredients of true and sustained innovation: 1) the need to take a systems approach; 2) engaging and acting on diverse perspectives; and 3) leveraging public and private partnerships.

As the state of the pandemic shifts, high-quality evidence is needed now more than ever to help decisionmakers grapple with the choices ahead and innovation driven by diverse collaboration is critical to forging ahead.
