Faculty Information:
Romana Hasnain-Wynia, Ph.D. is director, Center for Healthcare Equity in the Institute for Health care Studies (IHS), and Associate Professor, Research at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine. She is the principal investigator of a number of national studies which examine quality of care for underserved populations, the impact of performance incentive programs on the health care safety net, and the provision of language services to patients with limited English proficiency. She serves as a co-investigator on the evaluation team for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's national initiative, Aligning Forces for Quality, and is responsible for leading the evaluation of the disparities-equity component of the evaluation. She serves on a number of advisory panels for organizations such as the Joint Commission, National Committee for Quality Assurance, and the Brookings Institution. She was a member of the Institute of Medicine Committee on Standardized Collection of Race/Ethnicity and Language Data for Healthcare Quality Improvement. Dr. Hasnain-Wynia is Senior Associate Editor for the journal, Health Services Research.
