Empowerment and Advocacy: How Having a Doula Can Improve Your Birth Outcomes
This one-pager outlines what a doula is, how birthing people can benefit from doula services, and how birthing people can connect with doulas to gain access to outcome- and experience- improving services.
Evidence shows that birthing people benefit significantly from the support that doulas provide. This one-pager, created by project partners and staff participating in the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI)-funded Project DREAM (Doula Research for Equitable Advances in Medicaid Pregnancy Health) outlines the benefits of doula services and outlines how birthing people can find doulas in their states, confirm if services are covered by their insurance, and identify reduced-cost services in their communities.
Thank you to all Project DREAM Dissemination Workgroup members for their review and contribution to this one pager.
