Aleigha Mason, PhD, RN, is a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Healthcare Delivery Research and Innovations at Columbia School of Nursing. She completed her doctoral work at The University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing in the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research. Her research is focused on examining the influence of nursing care delivery on maternal health outcomes and organizational change within health systems to support nurses in improving the quality of maternal care delivery and outcomes. She is also interested in disparities within obstetric health outcomes. Her dissertation focused on the influence of system-level resources, including nurse staffing and the nurse work environment, on hospital-level breastfeeding outcomes. She also sought to understand if Black women experience differential benefits from improved nursing resources on hospital-level breastfeeding outcomes.
