Amanda Frost, MA, PhD, is a Senior Researcher at the Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI).  Dr. Frost has an MA and PhD from the University of Iowa in Political Science, including a minor in methodology.  She has managed various project while at HCCI, including the State Health Policy Grant Program. She has both formal training and technical experience in data management, survey methodology, quantitative analytics, policy research, report writing, and econometric modeling. Dr. Frost is the lead author on HCCI’s public reports on the health care cost and utilization trends of privately insured Americans, including the recent 2015 Health Care Cost and Utilization Report. Her research at HCCI has focused on health care costs, consumer out-of-pocket spending, state and local politics and policy, chronic conditions, and statistical methods.
