Dr. Sims joined the Prevention Research Branch at NIDA in June 2005. Her program areas include interventions to prevent substance use targeted to human services (e.g., research in justice, social service, and child welfare settings) and community (e.g., research involving religious institutions, employment settings, community coalitions, whole community or multi-system interventions), and substance use prevention research relevant to the tobacco regulatory science program.  In addition, Dr. Sims’ portfolio includes T32 research training grants on substance use prevention.  Dr. Sims participates in trans-NIH and NIDA-specific workgroups focused on dissemination and implementation science and is a member of the faculty in the 2019 Training Institute for Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health (TIDIRH).
