Gabriella (Gaby) Aboulafia is a first-year Ph.D. student in the political analysis track of Harvard University’s interdisciplinary health policy program. Gaby’s research interests are in how politics shape health policy choices and how federalism creates unequal and racialized policy outcomes, particularly in coverage policy. She’s also interested in people’s perceptions of the government’s role in their lives, and the political consequences of the privatization of public insurance programs. Prior to graduate school, Gaby worked at the Commonwealth Fund researching health insurance coverage and access issues. She’s also worked at the U.S. Department of Health in Services in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Legislation.
