Jeffrey Ekoma is the Senior Director of Government Affairs at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials – the national nonprofit organization representing the public health agencies in the United States, the U.S. territories and freely associated states, and the District of Columbia, as well as more than 100,000 public health professionals these agencies employ. He advises and engages on legislative issues in public health infrastructure, health equity, data modernization, environmental health, food safety, tobacco control, substance abuse, obesity and physical activity, healthy aging, social determinants of health, opioids, and suicide prevention. He also manages the Public Health Leader Roundtable of state and territorial government affairs leaders who meet to share perspectives, strengthen communication, and improve coordination among government affairs peers. 

Jeffrey received a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in health care management from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and a master’s degree in health science from Towson University with a concentration in community health. Furthermore, he received a bachelor’s degree in biology (magna cum laude) from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
