Jessica Galarraga, MD, MPH is a Physician Investigator in Health Systems & Policy Research at the MedStar Health Research Institute. She possesses over 9 years of experience in health services research with a focus on evaluating strategies to advance value-based care, including improving quality, reducing avoidable utilization, and advancing health equity. In 2015, she was the national recipient of the American College of Emergency Physician’s Excellence in Research award in recognition of her work in health services research. Dr. Galarraga also serves as the Associate Medical Director of Health Equity at MedStar Health, and, in this role, she has been leading strategies for the health system that fosters a data-driven and community-engaged approach to bridge disparity gaps in quality and safety outcomes. Dr. Galarraga is also a board-certified emergency physician practicing at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center in the District of Columbia, and she is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.
