Julia Harris, M.S.N., CRNA, FAANA is a doctoral student at UCSF and owner of Vaporworks Nursing Anesthesia, Inc., a CRNA opioid free anesthesia practice. Since beginning her anesthesia career in 2008, she has been active at both the state and national level including the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, California Association of Nurse Anesthetists, and Society for Opioid-Free Anesthesia. She has lectured at regional and national meetings and has been a spokesperson for her profession. Clinically, Ms. Harris has focused heavily on the study, application, and teaching of ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia and opioid-free anesthesia (OFA). Her business focus has centered around facility anesthesia contracts, complexities of anesthesia billing, initiating the effort for OFA reimbursement, and evaluating the fiscal impact of OFA. Her personal interests include volunteering with international organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, hiking, biking, and having her dog Aspen take her for long walks
