Introduction to Community-Engaged Research
In this session, researchers and practitioners share practical steps and lessons learned for planning and carrying out research studies that meaningfully involve community members in the work.
Logan Singerman is the Director of Community Partnerships and Communications at the Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance (SINA). SINA is a partnership between CT Children’s Medical Center, Hartford Hospital, and Trinity College that aims to improve the quality of life in the greater Frog Hollow neighborhood. He works with residents to carry out community led projects such as building community gardens, murals, and playgrounds on vacant lots. Logan also regularly knocks on doors to share information, builds relationships, and looks for opportunities to find mutually beneficial collaboration. He has spent the last seven years in Hartford working in non-profit organizations with a focus on grassroots outreach.
