Dr. Marc Pimentel is a Medical Director in the Department of Quality and Safety at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). He oversees the Hospital Acquired Condition Reduction program at BWH, aimed at preventing catheter-associated urinary tract infection, central line associated blood stream infection, venous thromboembolism, and other sources of patient harm. Dr. Pimentel is also a practicing anesthesiologist and serves as the Associate Clinical Director for Quality in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Pimentel received his medical degree at Columbia University and his MPH from Harvard University. He completed the Harvard Medical School Fellowship in Patient Safety and Quality and currently serves as Associate Site Director for the fellowship. He is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School; and his research interests include infection prevention, quality measurement, and perioperative safety.
