Michael McCarthy is Assistant Professor of Data Science and a founding member of the Intermountain COVID-19 Impact Consortium. He serves Utica University as the Director of the Data Science program. McCarthy received his BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and his Masters and Doctorate in Geography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His research focuses on ethics and bias in machine learning, social and economic aspects of communities in the United States, global demographic and social trends, innovation in healthcare and nonprofits, and the changing distribution of creative workers.
