Ming Tai-Seale, PhD, MPH, is a Professor in the Division of Health Policy and Director of Research in the Division of Family Medicine in the School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine and Public Health, University of California San Diego. She also serves as the Director of Outcomes Analysis and Scholarship in the Information Services Department of UC San Diego Health. Her research investigates the practice of medicine, patient-physician communications, and the influence of information technology and financial incentives on patient experience with care, clinical outcomes, and physician wellbeing. She publishes original research articles in journals such as Health Affairs, Health Services Research, Medical Care, and Journal of American Geriatrics Society.  Co-authored publications on patient-physician communication in primary care and on mental health issues earned the Article-of-the-Year award from AcademyHealth. A co-authored publication on the practice of medicine in the age of electronic health records was the second most read paper in Health Affairs in 2017. She has been a member of the Editorial Board of Health Services Research since 2006.
