Norah Mulvaney-Day, PhD, is the Director of Behavioral Health Research and Policy in the Government Health and Human Services division at IBM Watson Health. In this role she oversees a multi-disciplinary team that conducts services research focused on understanding the barriers and facilitators of effective treatment for mental health and substance use disorders. Dr. Mulvaney-Day is a mixed methods researcher with expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methods. She utilizes a wide range of different analytic approaches in her work with multiple stakeholders in clinical, academic, and government settings. Her current research centers on the impact of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act on service delivery and costs, quality and oversight of residential treatment for substance use disorder, and the effectiveness of telehealth to expand access to behavioral health treatment in rural and other underserved areas.
