Risha Gidwani, Dr.P.H., is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Division of Health Care Policy and Research. She serves as the Research Director for the division and holds secondary appointments in General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and the School of Public Health. She is also an adjunct senior researcher at the RAND Corporation. Dr. Gidwani’s research focuses on the impact of health policy/insurance benefit design on quality-of-care and patient financial burden, using both quasi-experimental techniques and simulation modeling. She is experienced in studying a range of insurance mechanisms, including employer-sponsored insurance, Medicare, VA, and the Affordable Care Act. Her research focuses on producing policy-relevant solutions to address the challenges facing patients with serious healthcare needs.
