Samantha (Sam) supports the Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS) and the Collaborative for Rural Primary care Research, Education, and Practice (Rural PREP) at the University of Washington. Her research on the health workforce has been broad and included studies on many allied health professions including physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, pharmacists, and EMS providers. She collaborates with lead investigators and other researchers in all phases of research, including developing and managing study work protocols, obtaining Institutional Review Board reviews, collecting data and preparing it for analysis, maintaining databases, conducting analyses, and reporting findings. Her previous work includes research on diversity in medical education at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and prenatal maternal health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
