Dr. Shih is an Assistant Professor of Health Administration at the Virginia Commonwealth University and a health services and behavioral science researcher. She was a tenured Associate Professor of Health Promotion and Health Education in Taiwan and a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She has nearly 20 years of research experience in health services and behavioral research and has been a PI or co-PI on more than 20 government-funded projects in Taiwan and the National Science Foundation in the United States. The focus of her research is on identifying strategies to effectively align public health, health care delivery, and social services to create an integrated, holistic, and family-centered system for vulnerable populations. She is passionate about using a community-participatory research approach in her research and working with interdisciplinary teams.
