Dr. Ettinger de Cuba is an applied health services researcher focused on health-related social needs, (difficulties affording food, housing, utilities, child care) and public assistance program policy. She has particular expertise in mixed methods and policy issues related to immigrant families and intersections of parents’ race/ethnicity and nativity and access to support. She has extensive experience in the social services sector and working with clinicians to bring both research findings and clinical realities into the policy world. As Executive Director of Children’s HealthWatch her team and she work closely with policymakers and their staff to shape child health and social policy decisions. She holds appointments as Research Associate Professor at the Boston University (BU) School of Public Health (SPH) and Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She received her BA from the University of Michigan and her MPH in International Health and PhD in Health Services Research from BUSPH.
