Brown is a research associate in the Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population and in the Research to Action Lab. He regularly leads and collaborates on research and policy advising projects that explore sources of and solutions to racial inequality. As a researcher, Brown focuses on employment access and job mobility, household financial well-being, and demographic trends of business ownership. Before joining Urban, he was an analyst at Abt Associates, where he worked on several federal evaluations, including the Family Options Study of stable and affordable housing options for homeless families. Brown received his BA from Princeton University and his MA in sociology from Harvard University, where he was also a fellow in the Multidisciplinary Program for the Study of Inequality at Harvard Kennedy School.
