Yuhua Bao, Ph.D. is a health economist and associate professor at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. Dr. Bao’s research is concerned with economic and policy strategies to support evidence-based care for mental health and substance use conditions. One current area focuses on federal and state policies addressing the opioid crisis, seeking to assess the effectiveness and comparative effectiveness of policies in achieving intended objectives but also possible unintended consequences.  This line of research has been supported by federal agencies and prominent foundations and has produced high-impact, widely disseminated publications including several articles in the journal Health Affairs
