Elizabeth Murray is a partner at Tarplin, Downs and Young. In this role, she advises and represents a broad cross section of the health care industry, including providers, payors and patient advocacy organizations.
Prior to joining Tarplin, Downs and Young, Liz spent six years serving as Senior Health Policy Advisor to House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD). During that time, Liz played an instrumental role in the development and passage of the Affordable Care Act, and also worked extensively on legislation impacting the Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP programs.
Liz’s additional health care policy experience includes working for senior members of the Ways and Means and Finance Committees, including serving as Senior Legislative Assistant to Congressmen Mike Thompson (D-CA) and Bob Matsui (D-CA) and as Health Policy Analyst for Senator Bob Graham (D-FL).
Liz holds a B.A. in psychology from Yale University and a M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School.
