Robert Hanneman, Ph.D, is a professor of sociology at the University of California, Riverside. He is also the chair of the Mathematical Sociology section of the American Sociological Association. He has frequently taught about the theory and methods of social network analysis at the undergraduate and graduate level. His text (with Mark Riddle), Intorduction to Social network Methods, is frequently consulted by practicing researchers in many fields, and is widely used in courses on network analysis. His substantive areas of research are diverse, and include works on medical, educational, and social welfare institutions.
