In a newly released article in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, AcademyHealth board member and Committee on Advocacy and Public Policy Chair, Dr. Lucy Savitz, joins Dr. Jeanne-Marie Guise and Dr. Charles Friedman to discuss two related strategies: integrating learning health system results with existing evidence from systematic reviews, and then providing this combined evidence back to potential users in a standardized, computable data format.
The authors argue for the value of integrating all data sources – published and unpublished – and changing culture to embrace the expedited learning facilitated by sharing and combining evidence with internal and external sources.
