Lina Walker is Senior Vice President of Global Thought Leadership at AARP, the largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization in the United States dedicated to empowering people 50 and older to choose how they live as they age. Dr. Walker heads AARP’s International and Thought Leadership departments to strengthen public policies and private-sector practices to enable all adults to live healthier, longer, financially resilient, and connected lives.

Dr. Walker has deep and broad knowledge of aging issues, having spent over 20 years working to strengthen access to healthcare, long-term care, and financial security. She draws from her multisectoral experience working in academia, state government, congressional agency, and the non-profit sector to uncover actionable solutions, leverage partnerships, build programs, and seed change.

Dr. Walker sits on the board of The Leapfrog Group, a non-profit, patient-safety and data transparency organization. She serves on the advisory board of the National Poll on Healthy Aging at the University of Michigan. She holds a master’s and doctorate degrees in economics from the University of Michigan. She is an avid gardener, and lives with her family in Washington D.C.
